Is that not what leadership is really all about?
President John Quincy Adams defined leadership as: “If your actions inspire
others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
Volumes have been and are continually being written and spoken on this
subject and yet, the word of God is our truest leadership manual. Jesus
was (and is) the ultimate leader there ever was or will be however His
leadership manner (style) and leadership views were often and are still
frowned upon by many critics.
The Pharisees of the day just could not get how Jesus led His disciples
and others. They were spiritually dead in their sins of-course. It takes
the power of the Holy Spirit within us to be able to lead and inspire
and motivate others properly. Take a look at the following Scriptures:
1. A true leader is a servant:
Mark 9:5 (NKJV)
And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them,
“If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and
servant of all.”
2. People can spot a true leader without him/her having to
announce they are a leader. No one would have followed
Jesus unless they saw something different about His
leadership abilities.
Mark 1:17 (NKJV)
Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make
you become fishers of men.”
3. A true leader that is called, denies him/herself daily
and makes Jesus priority and then others:
Luke 9:23 (NKJV)
Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come
after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross
daily, and follow Me.
4. A true leader is confident and gives hope to his/her
followers/subordinates:
John 8;12 (NKJV)
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light
of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness,
but have the light of life.”
5. A true leader is know by his/her followers and visa-versa.
The voice is a powerful instrument that a leader knows how to
use properly:
John 10:5 (NKJV)
Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from
him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
John 10:27 (NKJV)
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Be blessed as you go forth to inspire, to learn and teach others
and to follow Jesus and take care of the people following you, this
week.
'Father, in Jesus Name, we pray for everyone reading this right
now, whether they are leaders or not yet, You know the plan
and purpose You have for them Father. We pray your blessing,
provision and comfort into and over their lives and families and
thank You Jesus for Your peace and joy that is their portion, Amen...'
Greetings in Christ our Lord
