Regret-Free Living

Regrets...

I read in the Daily Mail about the Top Five Regrets of the Dying*, as
revealed by Bronnie Ware in her book of the same title.

Bronnie, a former palliative care nurse who looked after the terminally
ill & dying, says that people surprisingly all have the same type of
regrets. The following five stand out:

  1. 'I wish I'd had the courage to live true to myself, not the life others expected of me'
  2. 'I wish I hadn't worked so hard'
  3. 'I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings'
  4. 'I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends'
  5. 'I wish I had let myself be happier'
I find this quite amazing. Most people that are ready to leave this life
all had the same regrets. What about those who are still alive, active,
young? Do they also have the same regrets? Do you have any of the
above regrets haunting you?

Ware goes on to say that: the person who said they wished they hadn't
worked so hard were the words of a gentleman who missed his children's
youth and his partner's companionship. She says that many people suppressed
their feelings in order to keep their peace with others which resulted in them
settling for a mediocre existence and never becoming the person they were
capable of becoming.

Says Ware* : "Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and
had to die knowing that it was due to the choices they had made."

Another surprisingly common regret, according to Ware* is that people did
not realise 'until the end' that happiness is a choice. "They had stayed stuck in old
patterns and habits. The so-called "comfort" or familiarity overflowed into their
emotions, as well as their physical lives."

And so the question remains: are you busy living a life full of regrets? What could
have been, what should have been....It does not have to be this way. You can
decide right here, right now to stop with all the regrets and live a 'regret-free' life.

How?

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV)

'casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.'

Jesus cares for you and about you and your situation. Give Him all your
pain, regret and fear.

Phillipians 3: 13-14 (NKJV) Apostle Paul:

13 'I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.'

I don't think Bronnie ware ever came across a patient who regretted spending
too much time with their children, family or even God!

Let us not live any more with a regret. let us live the life Christ died for us to have.
The life of God's goodness, blessing, anointing and provision and fulfil His
plan and calling. If you have not yet excepted Jesus Christ into your life
and would like to start living without regrets then pray this following prayer
out loud and mean business with God:

'“Heavenly Father, I come to you in Jesus name.
In Your Word it says: (Romans 10:9, 10 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.”)

I believe in my heart Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
I believe that He died on the cross for the salvation of the world.
I believe that He was raised from the dead.
I now receive and confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.
I thank you that I am forgiven from all past sin and that I now have become a Christian – a child of God.
I am saved and have received eternal life.” Amen.

If you have prayed this prayer, Bless God you are now part of the Family of God
Get connected to a local Word based church and start growing in the Word of God
and fellowship with other Christians, pray daily and study God's Word.

Be abundantly blessed

Greetings in Christ
